End of The Phantom of the Opera Theme

We have now finished the theme The Phantom of the Opera, I loved it, it was super and I enjoyed all the different activities we did, I hope you did too.
After Christmas we are starting our new theme; Celebrity Chefs, lets hope we have as much fun during this topic.
Thank you for all your hard work this term, have a fantastic Christmas and a relaxing New Year, and see you in January.

Olivia is in the golden book again as she is such a polite, pleasant and hard working girl. She always wears a smile that brightens my day, truely golden!

Reminders!

Just some short reminders of events coming up;

Monday 15th November, 2:50pm is Year 3's class assembly. Parents, friends and family all welcome to attend and watch, good luck Year 3!

Tuesday 16th November, 1:30pm - 2:45pm is our Autumn Coffee Afternoon. It will take place in the main hall, parents/guardians can collect their children from class and have a drink and a bun, and are welcome to take their children home early.

Also for the Autumn Coffee Afternoon we are asking children to bring in buns and biscuits to sell, please can these be brought into school on Monday 15th November. I look forward to seeing you all there!

Maths Sorting Activity

This week we linked Maths to our theme, I gave the class a pack of famous theatre attendance numbers for the week and they had to use Carroll and Venn diagrams to sort them. We used criteria such as; numbers in the 2 times tables, odd or even numbers, numbers that have a 3 in them etc. Year 3 worked really we and thoroughly enjoyed doing this activity. Light and Shadows Experiment

Science shadow experiment
We drew around Ellie's shadow and recorded the length of a metre sticks shadow at different times of the day, below are photographs of the results.
